Delete your Yarnily account

Use the Yarnily app on Android, or open web.yarnily.com in any browser. You need the phone that has the number your account uses.

• Sign in with your phone number.
• Open the menu and choose Settings.
• Open Account deletion and type DELETE MY ACCOUNT in the box.
• Tap Delete account permanently, then Continue.
• Enter the code we text to your phone. Your account is deleted as soon as the code is accepted.

If you no longer have the phone number, write to support@yarnily.com with the subject "Delete my Yarnily account" and the phone number the account used. A person answers. We will check the account is yours before we delete anything, so that nobody else can close it.

You can erase everything about one child without closing your account. Sign in, then:

• Open Family and choose the child.
• Open Settings on their profile.
• Tap Delete [name]'s profile, then Delete.

This erases their photo, their avatar and every illustration of them, and their stories: the title and the text are wiped, not hidden, and any share link stops working. What Yarnily had learned about them goes too, with the record of what they read and the activities they did. They also come off every device you linked. It happens at once.

To remove a device you linked for a child, open Kids devices, tap Remove next to it, then Remove device. Its record is deleted at once.

For anything else, write to support@yarnily.com and say what you want deleted.

This is a real deletion, not a flag, and it happens at the moment you confirm. Nothing is queued for later.

• Your account and your sign-in.
• Your children's profiles, their stories, and their photos, avatars and illustrations, which are also removed from storage.
• Your chats, and your plan and billing details.
• Every device you linked for your children. Each one is unlinked and its record deleted.
• Your analytics profile.

If you have a paid plan, it is cancelled first, so no further payment is taken. The days you have already paid for are not refunded.

• Payment and tax records, for ten years from the date of each payment, as Indian financial and tax law and our payment provider's terms require. They hold the amount, the date, the plan and the payment provider's reference numbers. Your name, phone number and children are not part of them.
• Consent records, for as long as we may need to show that consent was properly taken. They contain nothing about your child.
