    Yarnily Kids

Their own shelf, on their own tablet.

The books you make and check in Yarnily appear on your child's tablet. They read them on their own, with a voice that reads along, and try a short activity after a book.

Included with Yarnily. It opens at kids.yarnily.com in the browser of any tablet, phone or computer: nothing to download.

    For your child

Books they can read on their own.

Yarnily Kids is your child's own shelf on their own tablet: the books you have published, a voice that reads along, and a short activity after a book.

    Their own shelf.

The books you have published for them, as big square covers they can tell apart before they can read. No feed, no adverts and no suggestions from strangers. With more than ten books, they can search the shelf.

    A voice that reads along.

Tap Read to me and each page is read aloud, with each word lit up as it is read. The pages turn like a real book. It helps children who are just starting to read.

A short activity after a book.

When a book has an activity, the last page offers it: match pairs, put the story in order, sort things into groups or match a feeling. It is made from the story they just read. They can start it, or tap Not now.

Stars and trophies of their own.

A star for each book they finish, and a trophy the first time they finish an activity. Nothing is timed or graded, and a missed day takes nothing away.

    For you

You choose what is on it, and see what they read.

    Only what you publish.

A book reaches the tablet only after you have read it and published it. You choose which of your children each tablet shows.

Yarnily's library, if you want it.

Switch Yarnily's library on for a child and their shelf gets a second tab of published Yarnily books. It is off until you turn it on.

What they read, on their profile.

On each child's profile in Yarnily you see the books they read and whether they finished them, their stars and trophies, and the activities they finished this month.

    Nothing to sign in to.

No password, no PIN and no account for your child. You link the tablet once, and you can remove it from your phone at any time.

Reads, stars and trophies are kept only while your child's Learning Journey is on, a switch on their profile. With it off, the tablet still reads, and nothing is recorded.

    Part of the week

The book starts the week. It doesn't end it.

Every Yarnily week is Read, Talk and Do. Read can happen together in Yarnily, on paper, or on their own in Yarnily Kids. Talk and Do still happen with you, away from the screen: a few questions about the book, and one small activity with things you have at home.

Stars and trophies are your child's, from reading on their own. Badges are on the Learning Path, one at the end of each unit you finish together.

    Safe by design

What Yarnily Kids will not do.

The tablet holds a pass that can open your child's published books and send back what they read and finished. Nothing else. More on safety.

    • Show adverts, or sell anything.
    • Link out to other sites, or share anything.
    • Run analytics, trackers or third-party scripts.
    • Make, change or delete a book, a child or a setting.
    • Record whether an answer was right.
    • Keep working after you remove it. A tablet left unused for 90 days stops by itself.

    Start with this week.

Pick your child's level and you get this week's book, the questions to ask and one small thing to do. Your first book is free, and you won't need a card. Plans start at ₹499 a month.
